Dallas’ dining scene just got a little brighter — and a lot more soulful. This spring, Chef Onur Akan opens Alára, a modern Mediterranean restaurant nestled at 1628 Oak Lawn Avenue, Suite 120, in the heart of the Design District.
About Alára
More than a restaurant, Alára is a reflection of Akan’s roots and his belief that true hospitality begins long before the first plate arrives. The space blends thoughtful service, ingredient‑driven cooking, and a warm, transportive atmosphere that invites guests to linger, connect, and savor.
Akan’s inspiration runs deep. “I grew up around the sofra,” he shares — the traditional Turkish table where family and friends gather to share food, conversation, and time. That sense of connection is the heartbeat of Alára.
